Delta Hotels By Marriott Durham Royal County

I had an amazing stay filled with delicious meals that kept me full and some very cozy evenings in the lovely lounge area. The breakfast could use a bit of improvement, but everything else was truly top-notch and made me feel like royalty during my time here. I’d suggest bringing some snacks in case the breakfast doesn't hit the mark, but overall, I’d absolutely come back again! 😊

Location was perfect and our room had a great view of the river.

The parking is open to non-guests as well, which means it can be hard to find a parking space.

Very good sized room with a storage, coffee and air conditioning, and comfortable bed.

Good food selection on full English breakfast. Delightfully helpful staff that were available during service, tastefully decorated, brand-new rooms. Absolutely perfect setting in the perfect area, close to hill as well as all the shops pubs. Again, walking distance to a resplendent monument...

Loved Durham, the hotel was high quality and stylish by the river. The rooms were neat and normal double, we had a balcony looking over cathedral. The food available for full English breakfast was delightful. The property was centrally placed. Everything was simply really good.

The hotel was in a very central location near Cathedral. The full English breakfast catered for everyone.

Inconsistent room cleanliness could use attention!!! Parking fees are outrageous for what's offered!!! An update of furniture and decor would greatly enhance the overall ambiance!!!

Our stay was very enjoyable but why don't these hotels join the 21st century and when they can, refurbish the place. Do it piecemeal but at least make the effort.Go for clean lines and get rid of all the chinz.

The room was large and the spa facilities were excellent. Breakfast was out of this world, the choice and the service brilliant.

I had upgraded the room prior to arrival but it was incorrect and we were sent to the wrong room so had to bring all our luggage back down, we were eventually put in the right room was was lovely but the bathroom didn't match the room it was was tired looking, shabby with broken tiles not what you expect for a 5*.

We booked two Superior rooms (one for a couple and one for a single person) and received excellent rooms with separate sitting areas and two large televisions. One of the rooms was even more spacious and had two double beds. We received a warm welcome at reception and all of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The location was also excellent as the hotel is within a short walk of the town centre, castle, cathedral and a reasonable selection of restaurants and pubs. I would recommend The Court Inn for a good meal (about a five minute walk from the hotel) - It is a bit on the small side and was a bit "lively" but the food was excellent - especially the mixed grill which was big enough to feed two people!! Overall, Durham was a great place to visit and we'll certainly be returning to both Durham and this hotel in the near future.

The only thing I had a small issue with was the full charge for sole occupancy of the room - it would've been nice to have had a small reduction as I didn't eat two breakfasts even though I had effectively paid for two.
